Dear John Stark Parents:
In December, I notified parents of an important accreditation survey being offered through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and Endicott College. The survey solicited input from parents, faculty, and students regarding the program offered at John Stark Regional High School.
The survey results have been released to us in two documents:
1. Self-Study Survey Results for John Stark Regional High School
2. Aggregate Self-Study Survey Results (a compilation of data from many NEASC schools)
Both documents have been placed on the John Stark website and can be viewed in their entirety at the following links:
John Stark Results (Click this link to download a .PDF file)
Aggregate Results (Click this link to download a .PDF file)
There are a couple of points to consider when reviewing the results. First, survey completion for students (750 out of 829) and faculty (94 out of 97) were very high, as might be expected. The survey completion for parents was substantially lower with 158 surveys completed. This accounts for approximately 21.1% of parents as a percentage of students completing the survey. Second, as a school, we were counseled to consider each question in its own context. We were cautioned to review the survey in its entirety and to look for trends. Responses to any one question, taken out of context of the entirety of the report, may be misleading. Last, both documents are very long and you may wish to consider this before printing them. Thank you in advance for helping us to save trees!
The faculty and staff of John Stark Regional High School would like to thank all parents for taking the survey and for reviewing the results. Our teachers will be working in small groups to review the documents and to gather information that is important to our accreditation Self-Study process.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Turmelle |
