November 2

Good morning Seniors,

Today is November 1st, and that means that you now have 16 days to get your Senior Portraits submitted for the yearbook. At this point, we have received 23, not a lot when you look at the size of your class. Please make sure you submit them ASAP. Any submitted after 11/17 CANNOT be accepted. They can be emailed as an attachment, or brought in on a cd.

If you do not want to have your photo taken professionally outside of school, Geskus, the company that we use for school pictures, will be in on Monday, December 4th to take portraits at NO COST. This would be a 10-minute session with 4-6 different poses. You will then choose the photo you want to be submitted, and if you want, you will be able to purchase photos. However, you are NOT obligated to purchase any. If this is something you are interested in, please respond to this email and let me know what your FREE blocks are. Again, this will take place on a Monday, to enable people to get a time that works for their schedule.

John Stark Girls Soccer came out and was controlling play then a deflection from a clearance allowed a run on from Pelham to go 1-1 with the goalie and Stark ended up 1-0 down at halftime.
Second half John Stark's Abby Brandt had a breakaway during the first minute defeating two plays to tie things up. Ten minutes later Cady Loos sent in a beautiful cross to Chelsea Woodsum who put Stark up 2-1. The Stark girls moved wide over and over sending in crosses and corners and Cara Easter connected with a beautiful Header to put Stark 3-1 up. Stark Girls move on to play Bow Sunday at 11 am

Girls Varsity Soccer Team went down quickly after Bow capitalized on a small error but the game was anyone's. John Stark made many great runs but just couldn't quite connect to a good equalizer. Still 1-0 down with four minutes to go tried a change in strategy to go for overtime but Bow managed to intercept and sent the second in to seal the win. The score doesn't reflect the heart and soul of the team and how close the game was.

Girls Volleyball came up short on Saturday on the scoreboard but played a tough and competitive match.

The Boys Varsity Soccer team fell short to Bow in the state quarterfinals on Saturday.  The team would like to thank everyone who came out to support them this year, especially those who traveled to away games.  Congratulations to the eleven seniors on a wonderful career.  See you next season!

The Generals Football team lost to Hanover but will still make the playoffs next Saturday at a location and time to be determined.

Cross Country

Both the girls’ and boys’ cross country teams raced in the Division II Championship Meet on Saturday.

The girls’ team finished 13th out of 19 teams. Freshman Maddie McDonald was John Stark’s top finisher, and Libby Barnes ran her personal best time of the season.

The boys’ team finished 15th out of 21 teams. In his final high school race, Senior Jack McCallum ran his best race, taking almost a full minute off his previous best time.

And Brandon Langdon placed 16th overall out of 149 of Division II’s best varsity runners, qualifying for the Meet of Champions and will be running next Saturday at Nashua High School. Good luck, Brandon, at the Meet of Champions!
