Congratulations to the John Stark Bass Fishing Team for Qualifying for the State Championship Tournament next Saturday.  Representing the Generals at yesterday’s qualifying round were Jameson Bourque, Bowdyn Egner, David French and Dominik Sutkus.
For the second consecutive game, the John Stark varsity field hockey team faced an undefeated team and played very well. The first half saw numerous scoring chances for both teams, but the score was 0-0 at the half. After the 20 minute mark in the second, Mascenic scored and took control of the game from there in a 4-0 final. Olivia Fatcheric and Elizabeth Aubin each had good games at midfield. Lauren Zervos and Kasey Arnold led the offense with 2 shots on goal apiece, while Abbey Jensen led a good defensive effort.
The John Stark JV field hockey team tied Mascenic 0-0 on Thursday. Sydnee Pelletier extended her shutout streak to 3 straight games by turning aside 10 Viking shots. The offense just missed on several scoring chances but played outstanding. Meg Giradet led the offense with 3 shots on goal, while Delaney Forrestall added 2 shots. Maddie Fitts had a good game at midfield.
John Stark lost a hard-fought battle to Windham 3-1!  Brady Philibotte scored a goal off a cross from Cameron Doyle. Austin Hazzard and Marc Morette played strong on defense for the Generals.
The Boys Varsity soccer team lost a tough match to top-seeded Windham last night by a score of 2-0.  The team played hard as a group and the effort was highlighted by Chase Patterson's season-high 11 saves.  Halfway through the season the team has a record of 6 and 2 and is currently 4th place in the league.  The team returns home next Friday, September 29th vs. Milford.
The Generals Volleyball Team defeated Hanover last night 3-0. The Generals were led by Nicole Y. with 9 aces and 23 assists, Sydney S. with 9 kills, and Haley P. with 20 digs and 9 aces. The team advances to 5 and 2.
Attention DECA members: If you are planning on attending the DECA Fall Leadership Conference the deadline to turn in your permission slip is Monday, September 25th.
September 22
Attention Boys JV soccer team:
Your game at today will be played after the varsity game at Wyndham High School.  Make sure your parents now your game will not start until at least 5:30.
Attention Seniors interested in the Construction trades: We have 5 spots available for the Construction Career Day field work on Friday, September 29th. This day-long event, includes many hands-on activities, such as big equipment, tree climbing, and welding. Certification, training, and apprenticeship programs are represented as well as companies who hire upon graduation. Please see Mrs.Chase in Room 237 or Mr. Owen for permission forms.
September 21
Field hockey team hung with undefeated Pelham for most of the game Tuesday before the Pythons pulled away late. Olivia D. got the Generals on the board with her first varsity goal on an assist from Lauren Z. Olivia F. had another stellar game at midfield and Melina J. had 31 saves in net.

The John Stark JV field hockey team defeated Pelham 1-0 on Tuesday. Sydnee P. earned her second consecrating shutout stopping all 7 Pelham attempts. Meg G. scored the Stark goal on an assist from Skyler R. Kacie W. played a strong midfield game for the Generals.
The John Stark Boys JV Soccer team defeated Kingswood.  John Stark played a solid all-around game! Christian B. and Emmet R. each scored two goals for John Stark. Jackson U. and Riley B. each added a goal for the Generals.  The Generals improve to 4-2-1 on the season with the win. Their next home game is next Friday at 4 pm.
 The Boys Varsity soccer team improved their season record to 6 and 1 after defeating Kingswood yesterday.  Goal scorers were Lawson M. and Evan C. off assists by Jonathon R. and Patrick K.  Chase P. had two saves in net.  The team goes on the road for a few matches but will return home next Friday, September 29th to face Milford.  

Seven boys’ Cross Country Teams competed yesterday at Merrimack Valley. The boys’ race was very competitive, though Souhegan clinched first.

The team scores were tight, as the 2nd place through 4th place was decided by only 4 points. Stark’s boys’ team finished 5th with Brandon Langdon taking 2nd place overall.

Rounding out Stark’s top 5 were: Jack H., Owen P., Erik H., and Collin A.

In the girls’ race, there were 5 full teams competing. Souhegan again took 1st place.

John Stark’s girls ran extremely strong races, grabbing the 2nd place, and denying Merrimack Valley by 2 points.

Stark’s top 5 runners were: Madison M., Laura M., Haleigh B., Hailey E., and Libby B.

On Saturday the Generals compete in the annual Manchester Invitational race at Derryfield Park. Wish them luck.

Cara E. then puts two goals away in quick secession. Cara E. then puts a through ball for Elizabeth D. to run onto to finish just before the game ended.

September 20
Art Club and Photo Club will meet for the first time this Thursday, September 21 from 3-4pm
 in the art rooms.  Any student is welcome to attend.  No artistic ability is required. Come check out these awesome clubs, meet some new people and make some art!

A representative from Southern Vermont College will be in the atrium during all lunches on Wednesday, September 20th
The Freshman Executive Council is looking for volunteers to help out with their fundraising carwash on September 30th from 9-12. If you are interested in volunteering please contact please contact Mrs. Travers or Mr. Finn in room 205.
September 19
John Stark will be hosting a College Fair on Tuesday, September 19th, in the gymnasium from 8:30 – 10:00. Please see the attached flyer for a  list of colleges, universities, vocational schools and the military who will be attending. Juniors and the Senior CRTC students will attend the fair from 8:25 – 8:55 and seniors will attend the fair from 8:55 – 9:20.  Seniors and Juniors should report to their A block class and will be called down during their scheduled times and should report to the Cafeteria before going to the fair.  All students including freshmen and sophomores are welcome to attend during their break time from 9:20 – 9:45.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Glynn in the Counseling Center. 
Attention singers: The Bedford Rotary Club is once again seeking talent for its annual "Bedford Idol" competition on January 13th, 2018.  John Stark alums Kacie P. and Abbey K. have represented John Stark at this event in the past.  If you'd like to compete for up to $1,000.00 cash please see Mr. Williams asap as the deadline to register is Sept. 26th.
 It is time once again to recruit new members for the JSRHS Equestrian Team. If you love horses and want to be a part of our team, we would love to have you participate. you do not have to be a rider or have your own horse. Please come into the Main Office for an informational handout and contact Mrs. Russell via phone or email. 
Acoustic Cafe will be on Friday, Oct. 13th, and we need your help. Want to support a scholarship fundraiser for students? Are you a student or faculty member with a talent? The annual Acoustic Cafe, sponsored by JSTA needs musicians, singers, actors, dancers, poets, jugglers.....whatever your talent is! The Generals Volleyball Team defeated Pelham Friday night in their homecoming match. The Generals won 3-0 advancing their record to 3 and 2. Tonight they take on Manchester West.
The John Stark varsity field hockey team opened homecoming weekend with a 2-0 win over Conant on Friday. Lauren Z. and Elizabeth A. scored the Generals goals. Olivia F. added an assist and had another strong game at midfield, while Tyler D. picked up an assist. Melina J. posted her 3rd career shutout in net.
On Saturday John Starks Homecoming the Boys JV Soccer team beat Kennett 8-0.  Cameron D. scored 4 goals and Joey L. scored 2 goals for John Stark. Christian B. and Emmet R. each had a goal for the Generals as well.  The next home game for the Generals is Tuesday at 4 pm vs. Kingswood.
The Boys Varsity Soccer team moved to a season record of 5 and 1 after defeating Kennett on Saturday.  Evan C. (hat trick) and Patrick K. (1 goal) provided the offense with assists from Jake R., Aiden M., and Jon R.  Chase P. had 1 save in net.  The team would like to thank all students and staff who attended the game.  The next home game is tomorrow vs. Kingswood at 4 pm.
With JS girls soccer defense locking the field down it allowed the Forwards and midfield to unleash multiple shots throughout the game. Within 2 minutes Cady L. had set Cara E. up for her first followed by a second two minutes later. Cara E. then set Lexi K. up for the 3rd. Abby B. created her own opportunity and put in a forth. Chelsea W. Served to the back post for Megan G. for a 5th then Cara E. sent Cady L. free for a 6th. Not to be outdone Chelsea W. then sent Abby B. in for a 7th. JS Girls Soccer 7-0 Vs Kennett
