Announcements will be posted weekly on this site.  New announcements for the day will be highlighted in red.  As announcements expire. They will be removed from this post.  We encourage the public to check back daily for additions and changes.

 

 
 

 

Boys Varsity Golf Team lost by one shot, taking second place overall with the score of 228 beating Bishop Brady and Pembroke. Ryan R. finished second overall with a score of 39 and all the boys shot under 50. The team improved to 5-7 doubling the record from last year.
 
John Stark will be hosting a College Fair on Tuesday, September 19th, in the gymnasium from 8:30 – 10:00. Please see the attached flyer for a  list of colleges, universities, vocational schools and the military who will be attending. Juniors and the Senior CRTC students will attend the fair from 8:25 – 8:55 and seniors will attend the fair from 8:55 – 9:20.  Seniors and Juniors should report to their A block class and will be called down during their scheduled times and should report to the Cafeteria before going to the fair.  All students including freshmen and sophomores are welcome to attend during their break time from 9:20 – 9:45.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Glynn in the Counseling Center. 
 
Sept. 15
 
Don't forget the Quiz Bowl practice and organizational meeting tonight from 6:30-7:30 in room 215.
 
Rough start for the girls first half but the defense kept them in the game until Alex P. scored in the 39th minute.
Second half a totally different team came out. With goals from Cady L., Abby B., Lexi K. and Cara E. The girls dominated the field and Plymouth was hard pressed to keep up with the continual switching the field and run on through the middle. 5-0 John Stark girls soccer vs Plymouth
 

At yesterday’s home meet the girls’ cross country team scored 1st place against   Sanborn,   Manchester West,    Trinity,   and  Merrimack Valley. Manchester West’s top two girls ran away with the race, with their first place time of a commanding 4 ½ minutes faster than the next team’s competition. Despite this, John Stark runners, Madison M., Laura M., Haleigh B., Katie B., and Libby B. placed in the top ten to clinch 1st place.

The cross country teams would like to thank Mr. Searles and the faculty who helped out in running yesterday’s very successful meet.

Sept. 13

 
There is a Quiz Bowl organizational meeting/first practice this Wednesday evening (9/13) from 6:30-7:30 in room 215.
 
John Stark boys JV soccer loses a hard fought battle to Plymouth 2-1.  Nathan I. scored for John Stark. The defense played strong for the Generals, while midfielders Joshua R. and Brady P. played very well. 
 
The John Stark varsity field hockey team fought hard but fell to Newport 4-0 on Monday. Melina J. made 11 saves in goal and Abbey J. had a strong game on defense. Olivia F. played great in the midfield and had a goal scored that was called back.

The John Stark JV field hockey team had their best game of the early season on Monday. With many scoring chances and solid goal keeping by Sydnee P., the girls were in it to the final whistle. Despite the strong effort, Newport won the game 1-0. Kacie W. and Delaney F. put many shots on goal and Olivia D. had a strong game at sweeper.
 
The Homecoming dance is this Friday September 15th from 7:30 to 10:00 pm.  The dance is semi-formal but has a glow in the dark theme.  You can buy tickets today for $5 at the Activity Fair during FLEX.  Tickets will also be available during lunches this week.  Tickets are $5 at lunches and $7 at the door.  Be sure to bring some extra cash for snacks and drinks as well as other goods.  We hope to see you there!
 
The Boys Varsity soccer team split their last two decisions beating Pelham 6-1 and losing to Plymouth 2-1.  Highlights of the two matches were Evan C. (2 goals, 1 assist) Jake R. (3 assists), Jared P. (2 goals), Patrick K. (1 goal, 2 assists), Lawson M. (1 goal), Johan F. (1 goal), and Will C. (1 assist).  Chase P. had six saves in net.
 
Attention singers: The Bedford Rotary Club is once again seeking talent for its annual "Bedford Idol" competition on January 13th, 2018.  John Stark alums Kacie P. and Abbey K. have represented John Stark at this event in the past.  If you'd like to compete for up to $1,000.00 cash please see Mr. Williams asap as the deadline to register is Sept. 26th.
 
 
September 12

Boy Scout Troop Twenty-Four would like to invite all of the students and staff of John Stark Regional High School to attend the Weare 9/11 Memorial Tree dedication ceremony on September 11th at 6:00 pm at the Weare Public Library. The reason for this ceremony is to honor all of the brave men and women who died on that sad day by planting a tree in their memory.

Do you enjoy writing? Come join the Young Authors' Club for their first meeting on Tuesday, September 12th in room 3:15 - 4:30. Be sure to bring stationery, a creative mindset, and an appetite for baked goods.

 

A representative from the U.S Navy will be in the Atrium during all lunches on Wednesday, September 13th

The first executive council meeting for the freshman class will be on Tuesday, September 12th in room 205 at 7:40. See Mrs. Travers or Mr. Finn with questions.

The John Stark Boys JV Soccer team beat Pelham 7-0 on Friday.  Riley B. led the way with two goals. While Nathan I., Daniel H. and Cameron D. all chipped in with goals!
 
John Stark Varsity Girls Soccer Team: Five minutes in Abby B. sent a beautiful ball across the field towards the back post that Chelsea W. picked up perfectly and sent in an amazing goal.  Megan G. was able to place a fantastic penalty shot to the corner after a Pelham handball just before the end of the first half.
 In the second half JS came out with some amazing through balls and Aria U. picked up a great send from Cara E. to go one on one with the keeper sending another well-placed ball putting Stark up 3-0. Pelham came back with a goal in the 63rd minute but Cara E. responded by firing in a long ball with 5 minutes remaining.  JS Girls Soccer 4 Pelham 1 
 
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed in the Hollis-Brookline Invitational Meet on Saturday. Both varsity teams placed 7th overall in their respective races, and the boys JV team finished 10th.
John Stark girls Varsity team was led by a freshman, Maddie M. who placed 19th out of a field of 71 runners.
Brandon L. had an outstanding race, taking 8th place in the boy's varsity race out of a field of 66 runners.
