The John Stark Varsity Field Hockey team played a very competitive game against traditional field hockey power Hopkinton in their season opener on Tuesday. The team fell to the Hawks but showed great improvement in all aspects of their game. Olivia Fatcheric and Elizabeth Aubin had strong games in the midfield, and Abbey Jensen leads a strong defensive effort. The Generals are back at it at home Friday against Kearsarge.
John Stark Boys JV Soccer Beats Lebanon in Double Over Time 4-3!  John Stark scored first with a goal from Emmet Rinehimer who placed a shot into the top corner. After the first half of the game, the score was tied 1-1. In the second half, the Generals were down 3-1 with about 25 minutes left. Nathan Isabelle sent in a cross, which Joseph L'Heureux scored on. Joshua Reynolds then scored on a magnificent shot to tie the game at 3 a piece. In the second overtime, Emmet scored the game winner, placing another great shot over the keeper!
Lebanon started with the ball but an interception by Cara E. and a through ball set Cady L. up for the first goal in under 30 seconds. 25 minutes later Cady L. crashed the keeper who couldn't control the ball and sent in her second. Second half Sara N. had a beautiful through ball which left her 1-1 with the keeper and she placed the ball perfectly for a 3-0 win for JS girls Varsity Soccer.
Evan C. scored off an assist from Jared P. in overtime to lead the Generals Boys Varsity soccer team to a victory over Lebanon.  Chase Patterson had the shutout and benefited from the support of solid team defense.  The team is now 2 and 0 and hosts Kearsarge next Tuesday at 4:00.  This is team's first home game so we hope to see you there!
